Prey 2: The Hunt Continues (2024)

“Predator” (1987) stands as an iconic American science fiction action film directed by John McTiernan and written by Jim and John Thomas. Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, the movie follows an elite paramilitary rescue team on a mission in the Central American rainforest to save hostages from guerrilla-held territory. Little do they know, they are hunted by the deadly Predator (Kevin Peter Hall), a technologically advanced alien with a penchant for hunting the most dangerous prey.

Initially known as “Hunter” during its development, “Predator” was filmed from March to June 1986, with acclaimed creature effects by Stan Winston, and released by 20th Century Fox on June 12, 1987. While early reviews were mixed, the film has since garnered status as a quintessential action classic, grossing $98.3 million in the United States alone.

The success of “Predator” spawned a rich media franchise encompassing sequels like “Predator 2” (1990), “Predators” (2010), and “The Predator” (2018), with another installment currently in preproduction. Additionally, it crossed over with the Alien franchise, resulting in the “Alien vs. Predator” series including “Alien vs. Predator” (2004) and “Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem” (2007).
