Doom (2005)

“Doom,” directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, is a science fiction action film that adapts the iconic video game series into a high-octane cinematic experience. Set in 2046, the movie stars Karl Urban as John “Reaper” Grimm and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Sarge. The story follows an elite team of marines dispatched to a research facility on Mars after a distress signal reveals a security breach.

At the Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC) facility, experiments involving an ancient Martian chromosome known as the “24th chromosome” have unleashed horrific, genetically engineered monsters. As the marines navigate the dark and dangerous facility, they confront increasingly deadly creatures. Reaper, who is personally connected to the facility through his sister Samantha (Rosamund Pike), must lead his team through the perilous maze to uncover the truth and neutralize the threat.

“Doom” is notable for its atmospheric setting and intense action sequences, including a first-person shooter scene that pays homage to the game. While the film received mixed reviews for its plot and character development, it has earned a cult following among fans of the video game series and action-horror genre.
